Title IX FanFest

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, RuvaAfricWear will be participating in the Mall of America festivities. Title IX Fanfest celebrates the legislation that was passed in 1972 that prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs, sports, and activities.

Ruva supports equal educational and athletic rights for women! This legislation is dear to our heart and we are excited to be a part of the celebration.

Our FREE Yoga and Afrobeat dance classes will be held in the Huntington Rotunda March 28th-April 3rd. Join us for a class or come watch a performance!

See the complete schedule below.

March 25th : Black Girl Advocate Pop up Shop

Advocating through fashion. Shamaria Jordan, the founder of Black Girl Advocate will be hosting a pop up shop offering Black Girl Advocate t-shirts and sweatshirts. Black Girl Advocate is a nonprofit organization that is passionate about advocating for oppressed people groups, including but not limited to black and brown girls. All proceeds go towards advocacy events the nonprofit is working on for the upcoming year. Through apparel sales and donations, the nonprofit is able to take several middle schoolers on an HBCU College tour to Nashville, TN. in April. The girls will be visiting four colleges, the Journey to Jubilee tour, and the National Museum of African American music, all expenses paid. To hear about more events and opportunities, stop by the pop up or check out their website!
